How long to go live?

The Salary Sacrifice Process

Before considering a salary sacrifice scheme it is important that all elements of the process (Tax, Legal and Management Considerations) have all been properly evaluated and a coherent a structured project plan has been agreed by all parties.

As Sprite will effectively provide an outsourced payroll function we will start by allocating a dedicated project manager to ensure that there is one point of contact by someone who will follow the project from the point of order until go live and beyond.  The Sprite Project Manager will work with your professional advisors to ensure compliance with the scheme being implemented.

Although implementation of salary sacrifice is unique to each client there are a number of common stages to be completed, these include:

  • Setting dispensation parameters
  • Agreeing data format and transfer timetable
  • Agreeing payslip format (if applicable)
  • If required use of web portal and customisation of the same
  • Reporting format and use of SSL FTP site
  • Payment output formats - BACS, Faster Payments, CHAPS etc
  • Test routine and documented processes
  • Systems Testing
  • Final sign off
The most common question asked is how long will the process take? Sadly there is no standard answer for this as it is normally dependant upon the client, however, typically a system can be implemented within a three month period.
